We work in partnership with the Institute of Education University College London (IOE UCL) to deliver the National Professional Qualification for Middle Leadership (NPQML) and Senior Leadership (NPQSL).
The NPQML and NPQSL provide recognition of leadership development and professional achievement for middle and senior leaders. The qualification will support you in becoming a highly effective leader, with the skills, confidence and knowledge to drive successful team performance and improved classroom practice across your team, and across your school.
UCL IOE is a world-leading centre for research and teaching in education and social science. It has been ranked number one for education worldwide since 2014 in the QS World University Rankings. In the most recent Research Excellence Framework assessment of university research, the IOE was top for ‘research power’ in education.
Hope Senior Leaders and Headteachers facilitate across both programmes so that colleagues can work alongside a range of colleagues with different approaches, skills and experience.
Middle and Senior Leaders across Hope and SALT schools. The programme is also open to colleagues outside of the Trust.
We have recruited for our final cohort starting in January 2021.
34 colleagues engaged with NPQML and NPQSL in 2019/20.

If you’d like to hear more about these qualifications, please contact Sarah Clarke E: firstname.lastname@example.org. Sarah can also connect you with a colleague who is currently undertaking the NPQML and NPQSL programme.
“The NPQML programme has helped with my confidence to be a middle leader. I sometimes felt I would not make a ‘good’ middle leader because I wasn’t the loudest character, however the programme has helped me realise that there are lots of different types of managers and you don’t need to be ‘loud’ to be a great manager or leader.”
